A Quilt of Memories: Sneak Peek into My Pastel Painting Collection

I'm excited to share a sneak peek of my current pastel painting collection, inspired by everyday moments, where each painting captures a moment in time, collectively weaving a quilt of cherished memories.

The Inspiration

This series is inspired by everyday moments evoking a sense of nostalgia and simplicity, reflecting the beauty found in the everyday life. The way the sunlight filters through leaves, flowers in the garden, an old barn you pass on the road everyday.

Materials:

For this collection, I am using Caran d'Ache water-soluble pastels on Senso Linen Panels. They are my favorite medium right now because they are incredibly versatile. Using them feels like painting with crayons, offering both precision and freedom to explore textures and colors. You can purchase the materials from my Amazon Storefront here.

The collection is still a work in progress, with more paintings to complete. Each piece tells its own story, from rural landscapes to lovely florals. The paintings are united by a common thread, yet each stands alone as a testament to a specific moment captured in time.

A Glimpse into the Collection

Here are a couple of pieces from the collection:

As I continue to work on the remaining pieces, I am excited to see how the collection will evolve. Each painting adds a new layer, a new memory, and soon, the quilt will be complete.
