Share
My current pastel collection, Quilt of Memories has continued to take shape. The collection is inspired by everyday moments, where each painting captures a moment in time, collectively weaving a quilt of cherished memories.

The Inspiration
This series is inspired by everyday moments evoking a sense of nostalgia and simplicity, reflecting the beauty found in the everyday life. The way the sunlight filters through leaves, flowers in the garden, an old barn you pass on the road everyday.
One of my more recent paintings in the collection was inspired by the yellow daylilies that had recently bloomed in my garden. Inspiration is truly everywhere!
Materials:
For this collection, I am using Caran d'Ache water-soluble pastels on Senso Linen Panels. These wax pastels are my favorite medium right now because they are incredibly versatile combining the vibrancy and texture of traditional pastels with the versatility of watercolors. Using them feels like painting with crayons, offering both precision and freedom to explore textures and colors. They are also super easy to clean up, unlike the mess of oil and soft pastels bring. You can purchase the materials from my Amazon Storefront here.
The collection is still a work in progress, with just one more painting to complete! Each piece holds a memory, feeling a story waiting to be told. The paintings are united by a common thread, yet each stands alone as a testament to a specific moment captured in time.
Each painting adds a new layer, a new memory, and soon, the quilt will be complete.
