Three Days in Rhinebeck: My Country Living Fair Recap

Three Days in Rhinebeck: My Country Living Fair Recap

That’s a wrap on the Country Living Fair 2026! The first weekend of October, we loaded the truck with paintings, prints and the entire set up and headed north from Maryland to Rhinebeck, New York.  It was the biggest show I’ve ever done, and after weeks of preparation, three days went by in a happy blur!

Weeks in the making

A fair like this starts long before the tent goes up. Most of my late summer was spent painting, finishing new work for the booth.

Then came the less romantic part: pricing, print assembly, packing lists, and a lot of bubble wrap! Honestly, the list goes on and on..

The booth

I wanted the booth to feel like a pause in the middle of a busy fair, somewhere you could step in, slow down, and let your eyes rest. Linen-draped tables, a soft vintage rug, and warm string lights overhead set the tone, with framed originals along the walls and wire baskets of matted prints for browsing. I created an inspiration collage on Pinterest to help me visualize what I wanted.

The little brass-framed minis were a hit! Tucked into a wooden bowl at $25 each, they made an easy first piece of art or a sweet early Christmas gift.

Around the fair

The Rhinebeck fairgrounds are made for an event like this. Colorful Country Living banners hung along the old barns, mums and pumpkins were tucked into every corner, and one sign near the entrance asked the only question that really matters at a fair: "Should you buy that? Probably."

And I couldn't leave out my favorite find of the weekend: a fox, a badger, and two raccoons gathered around a tiny table at one of the antiques booths, looking like they were in the middle of a very serious game.

The people

The best part, as always, was the people. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, talked art, and brought a painting or print home. I can't wait to see where your new pieces hang. Meeting online friends in person, and finding so many fellow DMV makers at the fair, filled my heart!

Huge thanks to my husband and family, who drove, carried boxes, set up my booth and held down the fort at home to watch my kiddos, and made it possible for me to be there at all. And thank you to Country Living Magazine and the Country Living Fair team for a beautiful event. I would absolutely do it again.

What comes next

Next week I am having surgery to treat Venous Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. I'm stepping into a season of rest and recovery. I'll be away from painting and shows through the end of the year.

In the meantime, I'm updating the shop with new prints and a few originals, including some pieces that traveled to Rhinebeck. More to come, slowly.

Shop Paintings and Prints

Thank you, as always, for being here and supporting my work. It truly means more than I can say.

Warmly,

Jenny
