The 30 Day Project

The 30 Day Project: What is it?

Thirty days of creating nature-inspired and botanical paintings within the confines of 6x6 inch squares.

On September 1st I started a 30 day project. Am I crazy to begin a daily painting practice in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy? Maybe.  Do I know where this will go? No.  But that’s the best part of creativity— not knowing where the journey will take you!

How it’s Going:

So far I’ve accomplished 6 days of painting.  It’s already been stretching to keep up with the daily painting challenge.  Family and just life happen, but I know the importance of keeping up with the practice— it keeps me sane and I feel a sense of accomplishment upon completion of each artwork.

Tips I’ve Learned:

I suggest having all your art materials out and within reach. I keep my materials in a small bin in my living/ kitchen area.  Why do I do this? Because it is easier to begin the daily project when everything is prepared and ready to go.  Also, with an active family life, I am able to stop and start as I please.

So far in my daily painting challenge I have painted flowers, butterflies and a landscape.  What else would you love to see me paint? Let me know in the comments below!
